Taylor Swift '1989' Album Packaging

The purpose of this project was to redesign the entire official packaging of Taylor Swift's fifth studio album, 1989. With a focus on pattern, an awareness of typography, and a reliance on various color schemes, this project evaluates the different themes and stories that are disseminated within the album. The album sleeve is itself inspired by the album title, and Taylor's description of the album as being heavily influenced by the music that arose in the decade she was born, namely, the 1980s. In communicating visual concepts and ideas, each couple of invidual booklet pages pertaining to one song features elements of design that gear around the lyrics, the music video, the title, or any other source of imagery that served in advancing my own creativity. For example, the pages for "Out of the Woods" rely heavily on expressing what the title suggests, while the pages for  "This Love" revolve around what Taylor describes in the song as part of her story-telling within the album. Attached is a download link of the digital album booklet in PDF format, viewable to everyone with the download link courtesy of Google Drive. Approximate work time is of two months, from February 21st to April 21st.
